Tubes of Song
audio installation with shibori dyed fabric tubes suspended
tubes were 7 feet in height, 2.5 feet in diameter and suspended 12 feet from the floor
Tubes of Song was an audio installation where I recorded my breathing and singing into various sizes of PVC pipe. Large bedsheets were shibori dyed in colours similar to the tongue, insides of the mouth and organs involved with respiration and vocalization. These fabrics were then constructed into tubes similar in structure to the trachea/throat.
