Early Explorations > Ocean Surface Tensions

Large scale drawing on 9 x 3 feet of shibori dyed cotton exploring ideas surrounding splicing living creatures together. Underwater organisms were enlarged to entwine with elements of land mammals. The cotton was treated with home made gesso with Indian ink drawings. The piece was then cut and hand stitched back together with hand dyed cotton thread, black lace and thin strips of black nylon.
