Cellular Drawings
This is a series of works created for two person exhibitions with London fiber artist and dollmaker Jacqueline Venus. doble va and to-and-fro: doble va at it again were exhibitions featured in London libraries and cafes in 2010 and 2011. Jacqueline and I prefer to work with surface design, specifically hand embroidery on hand dyed fabrics with hand dyed threads.
Many of the works are mixed media drawings using hand embroidery, inks and pigments on brightly dyed bases. They explore ideas surrounding cellular revolt, mutation, death and displacement.
