Fighting the Gray IIb: Drawings for Mental Health
This series of drawings are from a sketchbook created during 2018 and 2019. Stress, frequent illness and loneliness were contributing to bouts of depression. These meditative drawings were typically created two to three hours before going to work in the afternoons. Inks and pigment were applied to pages of a Strathmore sketchbook of 5.5 x 8 inch toned gray acid free 80lb sketch paper. Drawing techniques were inspired by workshops with local certified Zentangle teacher Lorraine Thomson. These drawings were a means to survive the exhaustion and depression I was experiencing at the time.
