Hours of Darkness
This series of drawings were created by recycling old misregistered prints. The prints on rag paper were cut down into 11 x 7.5 inch rectangles and coated with black ink. Additional inks and pigment were drawn onto the new surface. These drawings were started while working afternoon shifts in the fall and winter when the hours of darkness are the longest. The drawings were completed during the spring 2020, a time of pandemic, which added a level of psychological darkness to the physically darker drawings.
